With over a billion websites around it can be tricky to stand out from the crowd. A new generic top-level domain, or gTLD, can set you apart from the sea of .coms with suffixes like .agency for your design company or .holiday for your travel site.
Global Top Level Domains (GTLD’s) are opening the web up and diversifying domain names, giving you more options than ever before. GTLD’s enable you to create a domain name that’s more memorable and specific to your business or niche. Setting you apart from your competitors and helping to build a stronger online identity for your brand. A modern alternative to the traditional .com’s and .co.uk’s GTLD’s are relatively new to the online market, meaning if you’re quick you could snap up your ideal domain before anyone else.
We can give you a variety of domain names to choose from, ranging from common ones like .com, .co.uk, .net and .gov.uk to non-uk suffixes like .es and .asia.
We also offer a growing choice of gTLDs like .company, .agency, .holiday and .training (plus many more) which can help your URL stand out from all the .coms and tell people what your website is all about.
The duration of a domain name registration varies from domain to domain, but the minimum registration period is for 12 months. In theory you can register some domains for as long as you like, but we prefer to stick to minimum registration periods to keep your registration flexible and keep you in control.
Yes. You can’t register domains which use symbols, like / * &, although numbers and hyphens are fine. We reserve the right to refuse to register a domain name which is obscene, or which infringes any trademark. Some specific domain names have restrictions on them, imposed by the responsible registry company itself.
Finally, and perhaps most obviously, you won’t be able to register a domain which has already been registered by another person or organisation – and we won’t be able to help you buy a registered domain from another party either. If you’re unsure, just ask. If your choice of domain breaks the rules, we’ll tell you!
If your domain name has been registered or renewed, then the registration fee cannot be refunded. We will, however, let the domain expire when renewal is next due.
It’s important that you choose the right domain name for you, along with any derivations (like similar names, or the same name in other territories).
Please make sure that you aren’t buying more domains than you need, as we can’t refund fees for domains which have already been registered. We will, however, let any of your unwanted domains expire when their renewal is next due.
Transferring your domain to Nublue is fast and easy, and although we’ll ask you to pay for your renewal when you transfer in we won’t actually charge you to switch to us. Just get in touch and we can tell you more.
You can’t transfer a domain name which has expired, or one that you’ve registered within the last 60 days. Usually we would only block a transfer if the payment for your domain was overdue. There are one or two other rare instances as well – but if you’re unsure please ask.
No. If you’re transferring a domain away from us then we won’t bill you for anything other than the amounts which are already outstanding – for example domain registration or renewal charges.
There’s no charge to transfer a domain to us either, but we’ll normally renew the domain for the minimum possible term once the transfer has completed and the standard renewal fee will apply. If you're transferring a non-.uk domain to us, you'll be informed of this fee and be charged it when you initiate the transfer.
If you are transferring a domain to us, please bear in mind that some other providers do charge transfer-out fees.
Yes, regardless of the domain. You’ll be using our own centralised DNS system, so you’ll either administer you domain through your hosting control panel, or through your domain control panel if you don’t intend to use it for webspace.
